Batch Bread is what Irwin's is most famous for! The bread when it comes out of the oven is 'batched', hence the name. Irwin's Batch Bread takes a 6 hour baking process; from mixing and fermenting the dough to the baking and resting of the bread. These traditional methods are what makes Irwin's Batch Bread so different. The baking of batch bread has been part of the Irwin's business that the baking techniques have been handed down through the generations. These methods are what gives Irwin's Batch Bread that distinctive flavour.

Irwin's Batch Bread is baked on the sole of the oven which gives the bread a crunchy top and bottom crust with no crusts on the sides of the bread at all.
