Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming 19 Food and Drink buyers from across the globe to Northern Ireland as part of the Invest Northern Ireland Annual Food and Drink Showcase — and what a day it was!
Hosted right here in the heart of our food-loving region, this event gave international visitors a unique opportunity to explore the very best of Northern Ireland’s rich and diverse food and drink industry — from traditional bakes and artisan producers to modern innovations and family-run favourites.
At Irwin’s Bakery, we were proud to play our part in flying the flag for Northern Ireland food — showcasing our much-loved products, sharing our baking heritage, and offering a true taste of what makes our bakery special.
A Warm Welcome from the Irwin’s Team
Our team had the opportunity to connect with buyers from across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond — giving them insight into not only our products, but also our commitment to quality, authenticity, and local sourcing.
From Nutty Krust to Wee Joey’s Buns, our product range was on display, and it was fantastic to see so many smiles (and empty plates!) as guests sampled a true taste of Irwin’s.
We were also delighted to have some extra hands on deck from our bakery team, who helped bring the showcase to life with warmth, knowledge, and of course — plenty of delicious bites.

Mr Nutty Krust is back!
Our iconic crust-loving character made a surprise appearance at the showcase, much to the delight of guests and locals alike. A familiar face for many here in Northern Ireland, Mr Nutty Krust brought a touch of fun (and a few selfies!) to the day — reminding everyone of the simple joy of a great slice of bread.
