SQL / BI Analyst

Irwin’s Bakery are recruiting a SQL/BI Analyst on a permanent full time basis. The SQL/BI Analyst will be responsible for the on–going development of IT In–house systems and associated database design, implementation and maintenance. Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful applicant will work with IT and other members of the business from design to implementation of solutions for a production style environment. . This position will involve doing 2nd line application support and be part of an out of hours support rota. This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to grow with the company in a supportive environment.

Salary– £25,000–£30,000 per annum depending on experience

The Job:

·         To develop new software solutions using Microsoft BI, Power Pivot, SSRS. SSAS.

·         Define and develop reports and create dashboards to support measurement of performance and decision making throughout the business.

·         Support operational management, creating and providing appropriate reporting to aid decision making. Interpret and present key data to senior management.

·         Cover and represent the IT Manager when required including the rolling forward of key reports and ensuring integrity of data is maintained.

·         To modify existing programs in order to aid efficiency,  optimize system performance and cost–effectiveness;

·         To Maintain and optimise company databases

·         Manage and deliver small/medium sized IT projects.

·         Collaborate with all departments of the business to define requirements for upcoming projects.

·         To develop software documentation and user training materials.

The key attributes include:


Experience working in a similar role or related field.

  • 3rd level education or equivalent in a computer related discipline or  2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting projects with business users
  • Experience with ERP applications (preferably Navision).
  • Working knowledge of industry standards in project management and development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, consolidate and communicate with all levels of the business.
  • MS SQL Server 2005, 2008 or later
  • MS SQL Server BI Stack. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS.
  • Strong BI and Data Analysis skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure


  • Experience with DevExpress Controls.
  • General knowledge of ERP Solutions
  • Experience of Data Warehousing.
  • Microsoft Certification.
