1952

1952 saw the Queen, Elizabeth I, visit Portadown, Co Armagh. With W. D. Irwin being elected Mayor of Portadown, the founder of the Bakery attended the Royal Visit. Also in attendance was her daughter, Elizabeth II, soon to be coronated in 1953.

Meeting the figurehead of the Royal Family was a huge compliment not only to Portadown but also to W. D. Irwin as Queen Elizabeth I thanked those who had supported Great Britain in World War II.
