At Irwin's, we believe sliced is convenient - the quicker you can get it in the toaster, the quicker you can eat it!
Veda was discovered in Scotland, by accident by the housekeeper of a farmer around 1900. She went to the cupboard to get wheat and discovered it had sprouted. Rather than waste it, she used it to bake bread and the malt flavour it produced was so different that the farmer, a Mr Robert Graham patented it and set up the Veda Food Company.
A legend was born. Nowadays, Veda bread is only baked is Northern Ireland. It is certainly one of the products that Northern Irish expats miss the most.
